Daylight with a Pitched Rooflight
A rooflight in a pitched roof creates a lot of daylight in your home. It is best when a rooflight lies as flush as possible in the roof. With Dutch Roof Design this is possible because of the slim profile of the frame.
Hidden gutter
To install the Pitched Rooflight watertight, a kerb/upstand of 150mm height is necessary. For a flush look, the kerb can be lowered into the roof structure. For proper rain water run off a gutter has to be created around the rooflight.
Afterwards, you finish the Pitched Rooflight and the gutter watertight with zinc or another roofing material and its appearance is sleek and minimalistic: flush with the roof tiles.
Glass Specification
- Thickness: 28.8mm safety glass
- Outer panel: 6mm Clear HST tempered glass coated for increased thermal efficiency
- Cavity: 14mm argon filled air cavity
- Inner panel: 8.8mm Clear HST toughened laminated glass
What does this glass specification mean?
- The glass has excellent insulation: with HR++. The Ug value is 1.1 W/m²K.
- ZTA value (also called G value) is 63%. This sun transmission factor means that 37% of the sun’s heat is blocked.
- Argon-filled cavity: this noble gas insulates better than dry air.
- Invisible low E coating reduces heat loss. This means heat stays outside in summer and inside in winter, while the light transmission remains the same.
- ‘Heat Strength Toughened’ (HST) is toughened by thermal treatment. This makes the glass extra strong, resistant to greater temperature differences and safer.

The Pitched Rooflight simply falls over the upstand like a lid.
Specifications of the upstand/kerb:
- Minimum height: 150mm
- Width including roofing: 75mm
With a hidden gutter the skylight can even be placed more flush with the roof tiles.
The dimensions on this webshop are always the outside dimensions of the upstand. This means that the opening seen from the inside is smaller.
For example: a 1 x 2 meter rooflight has the following dimensions:
- 1000mm x 2000mm: outside kerb dimensions
- 850mm x 1850mm: inside dimensions before inside finishes
